Baga Beach, Goa Overview

One of the most popular beaches of Goa, Baga Beach is located close to Calangute beach, around 30 Km North of Panaji. It is named after the 'Baga creek' which flows into the Arabian Sea and is the perfect destination to witness beautiful sunsets and enjoy the cool morning breeze. Baga Beach is popular for its nightlife with some very famous clubs such as Britto's, Tito's and Mambos. The shacks come to life in the late evening with music blasting and amazing customer service. There is also a range of water sports that you can try your hands at.

Baga Beach Water Sports

If you are an adventure sports junkie with a special affinity towards water sports, there can absolutely be no better place for you than Baga Beach. The sheer variety of water sports activities offered here is mind boggling, and you will be spoilt for choice. Starting from the basic ones, you can make your way up to more challenging activities as well. Choose your pick from banana boats, bumper boats, water scooter, Jet Ski, dolphin cruises, and parasailing if you wish to enjoy the scenery of the Baga Beach. Then there is the option of Barracuda Diving close to the lagoon near Baga River which is the perfect way to acquaint yourself with the wonderful world that lies underwater.

Other water sports here include body boarding, single and double kayaking, paddle boarding, knee boarding, speed boat rides, surf board lessons, wake boards. You can indulge in any of these activities for a period of 10 minutes to about an hour, depending on the operator you choose. The activities can cost anywhere between INR 200 - INR 1500 depending on what you choose. There are amusement parks for the kids like the Blue Whale Water Park, Monsoon Fun Park, and Snowpark, where the little one can have their own version of water sports fun.

Baga Beach Nightlife

Perhaps the most happening thing about the Baga Beach is its upbeat nightlife which is the very identity of this destination. Some of the most popular outlets in the city here include:-

  • Café Mambos: Goa is synonymous with Cafe Mambos and rightly so. This outlet plays variants of disco and house music and you can easily dance the night away. Opening hours are from 20:00 to 3:30 in the morning. The entrance fee is 1500 rupees for a couple, 2,000 rupees for single males. Alcohol is included in the price.
  • Club Titos: Club Titos is big on electronic and Indian Bollywood music and even hosts some of the coolest costume parties of the region. Timings of Totos are from 21:30 to 3:00 in the morning. The entrance fee is 1500 rupees for a couple, alcohol included.

There are a number of other nightclubs as well, which include Kamaki, Cape Town Cafe, Red Square and Ivy among others.

Other Activities at Baga Beach

For the traveller who is looking to explore her inner self, Baga Beach has a few options to explore as well. Begin your day with a quiet and serene morning walk along the stretch of the beach, or give your body a workout with ABS Yoga Retreat Centre at Titos Lane 2, where you can attend yoga and meditation sessions.
